Lamar & Marion Counties Removed from the Watch

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has updated the Severe Thunderstorm Watch, which remains in effect until 6:00 PM CDT this evening, Saturday, June 7, 2025.

Lamar and Marion counties have been removed from the watch area as the threat of severe storms has diminished there. However, the watch continues for the following counties in central and northern Alabama: Bibb, Blount, Calhoun, Chambers, Cherokee, Chilton, Clay, Cleburne, Coosa, Etowah, Fayette, Jefferson, Pickens, Randolph, Shelby, St. Clair, Talladega, Tallapoosa, Tuscaloosa, Walker, and Winston.

Scattered severe thunderstorms remain possible in the watch area, with damaging wind gusts, hail, and frequent lightning continuing to pose a risk. Stay alert to any new warnings, and be prepared to seek shelter if storms approach your location.
