Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Marshall, Madison, Cullman, Morgan, and Lawrence Counties Until 2:45 PM CDT

At 1:47 PM CDT, the National Weather Service in Huntsville issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for portions of north central and northeastern Alabama. The warning includes Marshall County, southern Madison County, Cullman County, Morgan County, and southeastern Lawrence County. A line of severe thunderstorms was located from about 6 miles south of Trinity to near Smith Dam to Oakman, moving east at 55 mph.

These storms are capable of producing wind gusts up to 60 mph, as indicated by radar. These winds may cause damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Communities likely to be impacted include southern Huntsville, Decatur, Albertville, Cullman, Hartselle, Boaz, Guntersville, Arab, Redstone Arsenal, and Hanceville.

If you are in the path of these storms, take shelter now in an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Remain weather aware and monitor local alerts. This warning is in effect until 2:45 PM CDT.
