Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Cullman County Until 8:45 PM

The National Weather Service in Huntsville has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Cullman County in north central Alabama until 8:45 PM.

At 7:53 PM, a severe thunderstorm was located near Dodge City, about 13 miles south of Cullman, moving east at 30 mph.

This storm is capable of producing wind gusts up to 60 mph.

Radar indicates potential for damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations in the path include Cullman, Hanceville, Good Hope, Holly Pond, Dodge City, Baileyton, Garden City, Colony, Phelan, and Walter.

Residents in the warned area should seek shelter in an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building.

Elsewhere…a band of strong storms extends from Marshall County back through Cullman, Walker, Fayette, Lamar, and Pickens Counties.
