Sumter County Damage

Thought you might want to take a look at the pictures from the damage near Ward, Alabama. After receiving a heads-up call from the NWS I placed spotters in positions I thought best and safe. Sure enough, Ward Fire Chief Rosemary Rew spotted a lowered base and shortly afterwards reported a funnel cloud. The terrain made it hard to see any damage on the ground, but she reported what she thought to be airborne debris shortly after that. We don’t know what damage might have occurred in the woods away from the roads in this very rural area, but we know that the area around the intersections of County Road 9 and County Road 10 received a lot of tree damage. Further, one home in the area received damage to the southwest facing corner of the home and roof. Included are some of the pictures form the event.
