Noon Look at Temperatures…

| August 12, 2007 @ 11:59 am | 4 Replies

At noon, here are some temperature observations from the primary observing stations across Central Alabama…

96F at Birmingham (same as this time yesterday)

98F at Tuscaloosa (one degree cooler than yesterday)

93F at Anniston (three degrees cooler than yesterday)

97F at Calera (one degree cooler than yesterday)

Readings will top out in the 99-105 range again today. With the extreme heat, take it easy. Wear loose fitting, light colored clothes. Drink plenty of water. Take frequent breaks, preferably in air conditioned locations. Check on friends, neighbors and family members who may not have air conditioning.

The radar is clear across the northern half of Alabama.

Clouds over North Georgia are being caused by moisture in an easterly flow behind the diffuse front that lies over East Central Alabama. Some of those clouds may edge into eastern sections this afternoon, giving partly cloudy skies.
