ABC 33/40 Doppler Radar Back In Operation

Thanks to our engineering crew… the ABC 33/40 Pinpoint Doppler Radar is back in operation. You can see current still images from the system here, and access the live stream anytime from the main ABC 33/40 Weather page… just look for the live stream button on the top right.

Sorry for the delay, but full power radar systems are complicated, and you can’t go down to the local hardware store to buy parts when needed. In fact, most TV stations use National Weather Service radar data and call it their own… much easier and cheaper to do it that way, but I still say you can’t beat having your own live C-Band radar scanning the Alabama sky at a 1/2 degree tilt toward the horizon with a sweep line in real time.

Thanks again to Gary Watkins, Ron Thomas, and their crew for getting us online again!
