Felix and cool air

Obviously Dean is the major story, but we may need to keep our eye on another tropical wave NE of the Antilles, that could become Tropical Storm Felix this week (see Bill Murray’s blog below). Today, the Canadian GEM is still showing this system moving toward FL, and now the NAM is also picking up on it. This one is in no hurry to develop right now, but the atmosphere may become favorable for development this week.

Some things to think about…fall is on the way…

It was 34 degrees in Truckee, CA this morning.
It was 10 degrees in the middle of Greenland this morning.
It was 32 degrees with 24 mph winds on Mt. Washington this morning. (I was there 2 weeks ago!)
It was -95 (that’s right, 95 below zero) in Antarctica this morning.
It is about 40 degrees in the computer lab at UAH. (Just kidding).
