Around 11 am, Birmingham time:

CANCUN: 84, mostly cloudy, wind ENE 15 mph (nothing going on yet)

GRAND CAYMON: 82, light rain, wind east 33, gusts 59 (51 knots)

BUOY 42056/NW CARRIBEAN: Wind ENE 29, gusts 34 mph with 7.2 foot waves

BUOY 42055/BAY OF CAMPECHE: Wind ESE 16, gust 18, water temperature 87 (translation) Hurricanes thrive even on 83-85 degree water, 87 and 89 degree water is as appealing as the finest restaurant in the US for humans. This buoy will be extremely interesting to watch tomorrow if it does not get dislodged and carried away

During Hurricane Ivan, John Oldshue volunteered to ride a Skidoo into it to call data back by cell phone. Wonder if he will do the same for Dean. Hey, I know this is a serious matter but it is also no time to get uptight. Just my nature–good or bad.
