Strong Storm Over Eastern Birmingham

| June 27, 2010 @ 5:15 pm | 1 Reply

A growing thunderstorm is centered just east of the Birmingham Airport.

Lots of lightning, thunder and heavy rain is associated with this storm.

It continues to increase in intensity. Tops are already over 40,000 feet. It could start producing small hail soon. There is a chance that it could become severe.

Elsewhere, other isolated strong storms are…
…just north of Jasper
…along US-82 south of Plantersville
…just north of Jemsion in Chilton County

The greatest concentration of storms over Alabama right now is in Southeast sections of the state, east of I-65 and south of I-85.

If one of these storms is near you, go inside until it passes. Remember, when thunder roards, go indoors.
