Heat Backs Down This Weekend

**I will not be able to produce a Weather Xtreme video today due to travel**

RAIN CHANCES GOING UP: About 95 percent of Alabama remained bone dry yesterday, but a few isolated storms did form, including one whopper southwest of Birmingham last night, that prompted a flash flood warning for places like Bessemer. But, everybody else is pretty much dry and dusty. We will rise well into the 90s again today, with the risk of a few widely scattered showers and storms later today and tonight.

TOMORROW AND SUNDAY: The upper ridge will weaken, and a surface front approaches from the north tomorrow. The GFS is printing a high of only 89 tomorrow with cloudy periods and a good chance of showers and storms. The showers will thin out Sunday with a high back in low to mid 90s. This is July in Alabama, after all.

NEXT WEEK: Hot and humid weather is the story next week, with some risk of scattered, mostly afternoon and evening showers and storms on a daily basis. Highs will be up in the mid 90s on most days.

TROPICAL: Tropical depression two is dissipating over North Mexico today, and the rest of the Atlantic basin is quiet.

Brian Peters will have the Weather Xtreme videos back tomorrow, Sunday, and all next week as I will be at Cooperstown. Enjoy the weekend!
