Thunderstorms continue to be scattered across much of Alabama this afternoon. They are least common over northeastern sections.

Some of the best action is over the eastern parts of the Birmingham metro area. Zooming in, we find a large complex of storms from Fultondale and Tarrant City over to Roebuck Parkway then down through Irondale and into Mountain Brook, extending to I-459.

A small storm is along the Jefferson/Blount County line near County Line with a developing one just north of Springville.

Storms are over Northwest Alabama over Lamar, Marion, western Winston and Franklin Counties.

A developing storm is northeast of Carrollton in Pickens County.

Storms are over Central Alabama with a strong storm near Clanton.

Check the radar, because these are pulse storms that often collapse as soon as they peak.

B eon the lookoiut for dangerous lightning and torrential rains.
