Shower and thunderstorm activity is increasing this afternoon across Alabama.

At 3 p.m., storms were heaviest and most widespread within about a 25 mile wide band with side of I-20 from Tuscaloosa County over to Calhoun County.

The strongest storms were over SE Bibb County, especially in the Centreville area. Lots of deadly lightning with this cluster of storms.

Another developing cluster from south of Trussville over to Leeds and Moody then to north of Vincent. This activity is dropping southward. It is raining at my location in Trussville now with some thunder beginning.

Storm approaching Oxford in East Alabama.

Storms from north of the city of Tuscaloosa back to western Jefferson County west of the city of Birmingham.

Widely scattered storms over the northwest part of the state.

Be alert to changing weather conditions if storms appear near your area. Lightning is a big concern.
