Alabama Update at 4 pm

| September 11, 2010 @ 4:08 pm | Reply

First, specifically for the Tuscaloosa area due to the Alabama-Penn State game starting at 6. At 4 pm, a thunderstorm was in progress at Tuscaloosa Airport and the temperature had dropped quickly from 96 to 83.

This initial cluster of showers and storms was moving east rather quickly and will be out of the Tuscaloosa area well be fore kickoff.

However, another area of showers crossing the Mississippi/Alabama border will affect the Tuscaloosa area later but those are not as heavy. Still others were scattered across Central Mississippi and headed There is a chance that these will diminish before game time.

ELSEWHERE
A moderate to heavy shower with some lightning was over SW Jefferson County along I-20/59. Other heavy showers were over NE Blount County and over Marshall County in Extreme North Alabama

Everything headed east.

We will have frequent updates
