An all new edition of the ABC 33/40 Weather Xtreme video is available in the player below. You can subscribe to the Weather Xtreme video on iTunes by clicking here.

BACK TO THE 80s: Not much change in our overall forecast thinking through the weekend. Sunny days, clear nights, and a slow warming trend. We should rise into the low 80s tomorrow and Friday, followed by mid 80s over the weekend. Nights will remain pleasant, with lows generally in the 50s over the weekend. The air stays dry, and the humidity low. A very simple forecast… just remember a fire alert remains in effect for all 67 Alabama counties. No rain for the high school or college football games.

RAIN NEXT WEEK? A rather sharp upper trough will impact Alabama early next week, but the moisture will be very limited. We might see a few scattered showers Monday and Tuesday, but widespread rain is not expected, and it doesn’t seem to be really beneficial with amounts expected to be light and spotty. Then, a new surge of chilly air moves in from the north for the latter half of next week.

THE LAND OF VOODOO: Watch the Weather Xtreme video and you will see there is evidence of some rain around October 20 thanks to a passing cold front, followed by more cold air.

TROPICS: A funky looking “sub-tropical” depression is east of the Bahamas, and will most likely get the name Otto shortly. But, it is not a classic warm-core tropical system, and will move northeast over the open Atlantic. No threat to the U.S., and the rest of the Atlantic basin remains quiet.

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 30 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40. You can even listen here on the blog; look for the player on the top left.
