An all new edition of the ABC 33/40 Weather Xtreme video is available in the player below. You can subscribe to the Weather Xtreme video on iTunes by clicking here.

MORNING CHILL: Lots of 30s showing up this morning over East Alabama. Temperatures at 5:00 include 36 at Valley Head, 37 at Gadsden, Alexander City, and Scottsboro, and 39 at Anniston and Cullman. Most other places are in the low 40s with a crystal clear sky. You won’t find a cloud in the sky today with a high in the mid to upper 70s… the humidity levels will remain very low.

WONDERFUL WEEKEND: No weather change through the weekend. A cloudless sky, with highs mostly in the 70s and lows in the 40s. Sunday should be a little warmer with a high close to 80 degrees.

FOOTBALL WEATHER: For the high school games tonight, the sky will be clear, with temperatures falling from the mid 60s at kickoff into the low 50s by the fourth quarter.

This is homecoming weekend at the University of Alabama… the Crimson Tide will host Ole Miss at 8:00 tomorrow night; the sky will be clear with a kickoff temperature in the low 60s, falling to near 50 by the final whistle. Auburn hosts the Arkansas Razorbacks at Jordan-Hare Stadium tomorrow afternoon at 2:30. The sky will be sunny with temperatures in the mid 70s at kickoff, falling into the 60s by the fourth quarter. And, at Legion Field, UAB will host UTEP tomorrow afternoon at 3:00. The sky will be clear, with a kickoff temperature near 75 degrees, falling into the 60s by the end of the game.

NEXT WEEK: The prospects of rain are fading fast. A blip or two might show up on radar Tuesday or Wednesday, but it sure looks like most communities will remain dry all week with seasonal temperatures. We note Birmingham’s rain total for the month so far is only 0.05″, and the Alabama Forestry Commission maintains a fire alert for all 67 Alabama counties. I figure we will hear of more wildfires in coming days. Let’s be careful out there.

LONG RANGE: Very low confidence in the solution for the last week of the month due to model madness. The 00Z GFS has a big rain/storm event here on October 27, but don’t bank on it. See the Weather Xtreme video for details.

TROPICS: Convection has totally blown away from the circulation center of Paula, and it is hard to call that system on the coast of Cuba a tropical storm any more. The rest of the Atlantic basin is rather quiet.

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 30 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40. You can even listen here on the blog; look for the player on the top left.
