Tomas Weakens Back to Tropical Storm

| October 31, 2010 @ 9:51 pm | Reply

Tomas has weakened to a tropical storm this evening and hopefully that weakening trend will continue. It is still forecast to restrengthen into a hurricane in about three days, but perhaps not a major hurricane. We can hope.

Tomas could end up anywhere from eastern Cuba to the Dominican Republic later this week.

If Tomas strikes Haiti, the impact could be devastating. In the midst of a cholera outbreak and a slow recovery from the horrible earthquake in January of this year, a brush or direct hit from Tomas will very bad.
