Many Spots at Freezing or Below

Birmingham recorded its first freeze of the season this morning, which is nearly right on time according to the long term averages. The average first frost at Birmingham occurs on November 8th. Our earliest first frost occurred on October 18, 1948.

Here are temperatures across the state at 7 a.m.

Readings today will climb only into the 50s with another freeze expected tonight. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised to see even colder readings in the valley locations Sunday and Monday mornings as the high pressure system is right over our heads.
