Alabama at Mid-afternoon
Showers were increasing over North and Northwest Alabama this afternoon. At 3:05 pm, most of the showers were from about Shelby County and extending north and northwest as far north as Decatur and Huntsville and into Northwest Alabama.
Very little indication of lightning so far but some of the showers were moderate to heavy.
By far, the strongest storms were lined up across Northwest Louisiana through East Arkansas. A Tornado Watch continues until 9 pm, CST, for these areas:
Most of Louisiana except the Southeast. (New Orleans not included)
Extreme South Arkansas
Extreme East Texas
West Central Mississippi
Here in Alabama, we need to keep in touch with up to date weather information overnight.
Looks like another night with not much sleep. Just so there is fresh coffee at all hours.
