Clouds are thick across the northern half of the state early on this Saturday afternoon.
A few light showers are over East Alabama’s Calhoun, Cleburne, Talladega and Clay Counties. They are moving east.
Temperatures are in the 50s over most oft he area. The exception is the Northeast corner of the state where it is still in the 40s at Fort Payne.
The cold front has crossed the Mississippi River into western Tennessee and Northwestern Mississippi. Skies will clear quickly behind the front, which should arrive early this evening. Readings overnight will fall to near or just below freezing. You will also notice a freshening northerly breeze that will make it feel quite chilly if you are heading out tonight.
Tomorrow will feature a good supply of sunshine, but readings will remain in the 40s and a chill northwesterly wind will make it feel even colder.
