Wind Advisory Issued

| December 4, 2010 @ 9:14 pm | Reply

Northwesterly winds are picking up across the area tonight in the wake of a cold front and strong pressure gradient between a deepening low pressure system over the Carolinas and a high over the Gulf of Mexico.

Winds are averaging 10-20 mph and gusting to nearly 30 mph at times across the area and that will continue through the overnight hours. The winds will relax some toward morning, then increase during the day again.

A wind advisory is in effect for tonight and Sunday for all of Central Alabama.
