It sure was quiet on the ice report front until about 20 minutes ago. Parts of northern Mississippi are under a glaze of ice, including this picture from Jonathan Rodgers at the University of Mississippi in Oxford:

*US Highway 45 near Wren, MS has bridge icing. Northbound lanes are blocked by Miss. Highway Patrol.

*Icy roads are being reported in Pontotoc, Lee, and Union Counties.

*Multiple accidents have been reported over northern Mississippi.

In Alabama, we have one report of some icicles in Ethelsville in Pickens County, but no highway issues yet. Bridge icing is possible through the next few hours in north and west Alabama including Lamar, Marion, Fayette, Walker, Cullman, as well as northern Pickens and Tuscaloosa Counties (this includes the Tennessee Valley, too). It will not likely be a solid sheet of ice over everything, but icing is possible in spots. Be careful out there!
