Snow Showers Winding Down…Cold Up Next

| December 26, 2010 @ 6:13 pm | 1 Reply

The snow is nearly over now for Central Alabama, with just a few very light flurries mainly over Tuscaloosa, Bibb, Perry, Dallas in the west and Coosa County in the east.

Roads dried out somewhat today with a little sunshine and strong winds. But there will be some leftover slushy spots and water seeping onto area roadways overnight and with temperature falling into the 20s, icy spots will develop again.

Be careful if you must drive overnight and if driving early on Monday morning. Use caution, drive slowly, allow extra time and be especially careful on bridges and overpasses since they tend to be more of a problem.

Temperatures are just below freezing now across Central Alabama and will fall into the lower 20s on average with some places falling into the 20s.

We won’t get out of the 30s tomorrow.

A hard freeze watch is in effect for tomorrow night. Temperatures will be even colder tomorrow night with lows in the teens in most spots.
