Latest NAM unchanged…sweet spot right through I-20, with 4-8″ of snow and maybe a little ice in TCL/BHM/ANB, a little less snow in HSV, and freezing rain and snow mixed from Clanton south.  The areas around Montgomery, Troy, and Auburn could wind up getting the worst of this system, with warmer temperatures aloft but surface temperatures below freezing causing icing.

GFS seems to try to form some thunderstorms along the Gulf Coast, cutting off some of the moisture to central Alabama, and keeping snowfall amounts closer to 2-4″.  It could be a rogue model run, but it still doesn’t keep accumulating snow from central AL and ice from south AL.

My gut feeling is 4″ here in Trussville.
