Snow Developing Southwest Of B’ham

| January 11, 2011 @ 7:36 am | 41 Replies

Within the last 30 minutes a small area of snow has developed over Southwest Jefferson County… moderate to snow has been reported in McCalla within the past few minutes… this will be moving through southern Jefferson and northern Shelby counties during the next 30 minutes to one hour. The Birmingham Airport is reporting 34 degrees… so most travel in the immediate downtown area is wet, but areas to the north and east are at or below 32 with icy bridges.

We have reports of moderate to heavy snow in McCalla, Bessemer, and Ross Bridge.

We maintain the chance of snow flurries or showers this morning in advance of the push of very cold air moving into the state tonight.
