From Yosemite National Park
Thanks to Ted Bowling for these images… he writes:
“James:
Thought I would share these photos with the blog readers. I recently had an opportunity to visit Yosemite National Park and came away with some interesting shots. Yosemite is quite dry in the Fall. The normally spectacular Yosemite Falls is bone dry and Bridal-veil falls has only a trickle of water. This is not surprising though since most of the Spring/Summer flow results from snow melt. We were at the park during the “pivot point”, mid OCT. Its the last week before winter normally arrives to the Sierra. Many roads and popular trails were about to close. Nevertheless, we had great weather (70/45). The lack of water flow in the Merced River creates some rare stillness and great opportunitie for the photographer to catch good reflections. From a pure “wow” perspective, this is the most spectacular place I have ever been. The actual weather can change hourly creating constantly shifting scenarios for clouds and light. Very challenging and rewarding. Anyone who has a chance to visit California should certainly put Yosemite on their checklist.”
