Nasty Storm in Birmingham

Hail, torrential rains, winds gusting over 50 mph with the major storm that is impacting Birmingham now. We measured a 49 mph wind gusts at our Skycam in downtown Birmingham.

Visibility 1/4 at the Birmingham Airport. Winds gusted to 35 mph. Pressure now rising. The worst will be over soon for Birmingham.

Getting lots of reports of hail to golfball size hail atop Red Mountain. Be ready!

A new severe thunderstorm warning has just been issued for Bibb and Shelby Counties.

The severe thunderstorm warning for Cherokee County has been canceled.
