More Showers Overnight

Some heavy and even severe thunderstorms continue across South Alabama this afternoon, extending from Evergreen to Dozier to Clio. A very strong storm is approaching Dothan. Ping pong ball sized hail was reported in Eufaula at 1:35 p.m.

Further north, a few light showers are over Marengo, Perry and Dallas Counties as well as over Coosa, Tallapoosa, Chambers and Randolph counties.

Quite a range in temperatures from north to south, from 45F at Huntsville to 50F at Birmingham to 68F at Montgomery to 79F at Dothan.

The boundary has pushed deep into South Alabama, extending from Greenville to Union Springs to Phenix City.

The tornado watch continues counties in far southeastern Alabama. The counties in Central Alabama have been cleared from the watch.

Looking west, we see a mid-level trough moving across Oklahoma. This system will trigger rain and some isolated storms that will move back into Alabama tonight. Rainfall amounts will not be heavy, up to a quarter of an inch in the I-59 corridor, and as much as one half inch across the Tennessee Valley. A few showers could linger in Monday morning, but they should be mostly gone early.

Rain and storms will return late Tuesday night into Wednesday.
