A Midnight Chill in the Air

| April 6, 2011 @ 12:54 am | Reply

With a clear sky, and very little wind, the temperature is headed downward on the very first hour of this Wednesday. Already some pockets of 32 degrees in Northeast Alabama. Here is a roundup of temperatures around Alabama at the ghostly hour of midnight:

32 Fort Payne Airport
36 Lizard Lope, Cullman Airport, Valley Head,
37 Haleyville, Gadsden, Meridianville, Crossville
39 Anniston, Alexander City, Courtland, Albertville, Scottsboro
41 Evergreen
42 Huntsville, Tuscaloosa, Birmingham
43 Muscle Shoals, Decatur, Calera, Greenville
44 Montgomery/Dannelly Field
45 Auburn

Actually, to our west, on the west side of the high pressure area, a light south wind has set in causing temperatures to moderate some. The midnight temperature in Memphis and Shreveport was was 52 and in Monroe, La., 54

Later on this Wednesday morning, since some scattered frost will be involved, we will (probably) (most likely) post a list of the final lows.

When mid-July gets here and the temperature at 96, and humidity through the roof, we will probably look back with fondness at our current weather,
