Red Flag Warning North and Central Alabama This Afternoon

| December 1, 2007 @ 11:44 am | 1 Reply

It is a beautiful day for outdoor activities.

One of those SHOULD NOT be burning leaves.

Extremely dry air with dewpoints in the 20s has worked down to the surface across North and Central Alabama. This combined with a breezy southeast wind has produced ideal conditions for the rapid spread of wildfires. So no outdoor burning should be considered this afternoon.

The red flag warning goes until 5 p.m. CST for Blount, Calhoun, Cherokee, Clay, Cleburne, Etowah, Fayette, Jefferson, Lamar, Marion, Pickens, Randolph, Shelby, St. Clair, Talladega, Tuscaloosa, Walker and Winston Counties.

Please be careful.
