As expected, a band of showers is moving across Mississippi and into Northwest Alabama this evening.

The main band extends from about lawrenceburg, Tennessee, just entering extreme northwestern Lauderdale County then southwestward to just west of Tupelo to near Winona and then it becomes more broken into the Delta.

The only lightning has been over southern Tennessee. There could be a little lightning tonight, but don’t count on it.

Ahead of this band, a short line of heavier showers extends across parts of Lawrence, Frankling and NW Marion County from Elkmont to Town Creek to Russellville to just west of Hamilton.

Other showers are over Winston, Walker, Fayette, northern Pickens and southern Lamar Counties. They are generally light in intensity.

Over South Central Alabama, showers are over parts of Chilton, Autauga and Dallas Counties.

A warm front has pushed into southern Tennessee. Temperatures across Central Alabama are in the upper 60s. Dewpoints continue to climb and are in the lower 60s now.

The cold front has still not reached western Tennessee. Another line of showers is just ahead of the front, and is approaching Memphis.

Rainfall amounts will be light, generally less than one quarter inch. It will be breezy at times, with winds averaging 6-14 mph out of the south, gusting to 15-25 mph at times.

Look for a change to colder late tonight with a raw day tomorrow. Skies will clear rather quickly, but some locations may not get out of the 40s. There will be a strong north wind averaging 10-20 mph and gusting even higher at times.
