This listing is a little different. Most lists show the primary resources most of us use in studying weather. These are some of my less mainstream websites that have great content.

NOAA Global Hazards and Extremes Website
Monthly listing of all of the major weather and climate situations not only in the U.S., but from around the world.

Google Reader
Not a weather site, but a way to easily manage as many RSS feeds about weather as you can find.

Jeff Haby’s Weather Education Site
Tons of basic weather concepts explained.

Tornado Newspaper Archive
A collection of newspaper articles from around the country about tornadoes.

Hurricane Newspaper Archive
Same as above, just about hurricanes.

NOAA Central Library U.S. Daily Weather Maps Project
Historical daily weather maps from 1871 to 2002.

Monthly Weather Review Archive
The American Meteorological Society has made the historical archives of its top journal available online, for free!

NCDC Storm Event Database
Includes all Storm Data entries since much of 1993. Also includes the entries from the Storm Prediction Center since 1950 including tornadoes, damaging wind and hail events.

SPC Severe Thunderstorm Event Archive
Includes SPC data on every major event since 2000.

Great Model Page

Storm Track Forum
The greatest source of up to date storm chasing information on the web.

South Florida Water Management District Hurricane Pages
Fabulous model comparison graphics along with some other cool stuff.

Weather Underground Hurricane Track Archive
The best track positions of every tropical storm and hurricane in the Atlantic since 1851.

Naval Research Lab Monterrey Tropical Cyclone Page
The best place to track tropical cyclones in all of the world’s ocean basins. Great satellite photos and track forecasts.
