As many of you know, Air Evac 16 (Based out of Muscle Shoals) crashed at or around 3:00 AM on 12/30/07 in the Barton, AL (Colbert Co.) area while performing a search for a lost hunter. One man involved in the search said the Air Evac crew had spotted the hunter just before 3 a.m. and were holding a spotlight on him to show ground searchers where to find him. Suddenly, the helicopter crashed, causing a huge explosion while killing all three crew members:

Pilot – Michael Baker
Nurse – Tiffany Miles
Paramedic – Allen Bragwell

The hunter was not seriously injured but was taken to a local hospital for
treatment, officials said. Family members of the hunter notified emergency
operators at about 1 a.m. today that he was missing.

There has been a fund set up for the families of Air Evac 16. Allan’s family
has four children and Tiffany’s family has two children. The fund has been
set up with Bank Independent in the Florence/Muscle Shoals/Tuscumbia/Sheffield area. Contributors in North Alabama can visit your nearest Bank Independent branch.

CONTRIBUTORS OUT OF THE BANK INDEPENDENT AREA:

If you would like to contribute (and I pray that you will, even if it is
just a little… a lot of littles makes a lot for these grieving families)
