Wish You Were Here!
GREETINGS FROM THE BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY: Had lunch at one of JB’s favorite spots on earth…Mt. Mitchell, NC as we travel up the Blue Ridge Parkway toward a dinner date in Blowing Rock. It has been a day of peaks and balds, trails and tunnels, turkeys and noseeums, waterfalls and lakes, overlooks and viaducts, and grilled mountain trout at 6,500 feet. Yum!
WISH YOU WERE HERE…BUT IT’S NOT BAD IN ALABAMA EITHER: Skies are mainly clear, with just a few puffy cumulus clouds over East and South Central Alabama. High pressure at the surface to the east of North Carolina is acting like a huge heat and moisture pump, sending heat and humidity directly into the Deep South on the backs of gentle southerly winds. This would normally be the recipe for widely scattered afternoon and evening storms across Alabama, but high pressure aloft is keeping a lid on the atmosphere and will through Tuesday. This means sunny and hot conditions with daytime highs right around 90F and overnight lows in the upper 60s.
EXPECT THE SAME FOR MEMORIAL DAY: Backyard barbecues will enjoy the same brand of perfect weather tomorrow. Enjoy!
