Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Lamar County

| January 10, 2008 @ 2:07 pm | 12 Replies

The good news is that the long lived supercell that has stormed across Central Mississippi today has weakened just a bit.

The severe thunderstorm warning goes until 2:45 p.m.

It is still impressive however. It is passing near the Columbus AFB.

It is moving ENE in the general direction of Vernon.

Low level rotation is weak at this time, but it could intensify and the warning could be upgraded to a tornado warning at any time.

Residents in Lamar County should take cover as this dangerous storm approaches. It has a history of producing wind damage, funnel clouds and tornadoes.
