Chilton/Coosa Storms Strongest

Storms are quite strong late this evening from Clanton southward along I-65 to Verbena and eastward into Coosa County.

They have now migrated eastward enough to engulf Rockford, edging over US-231.

The main cells are now southeast of Clanton and north of Rockford.

Torrential rains, deadly lightning and gusty winds will accompany the storms along with some small hail. Up to two inches of rain will fall in less than one hour in the heavier downpours.

That is a potent little storm east of I-65 in Shelby County, to the southwest of Columbiana. Lots of heavy rain and lightning with that one.
