Lightning Is Frightening

Thanks to Lisa Bradley of Cumming, GA for this image… she writes…

“I live in south Forsyth County, Georgia. On June 15th we had some severe storms including lightening. I felt/heard one lightning strike closer than any I have ever experienced. When I went to look out my backdoor to see where it struck – I discovered a hole in my kitchen floor! It appears the metal transition piece that separates my slate floor from my carpet acted as a conductor and exploded one tile from the foundation out. I have never seen anything like this!

I did not even lose power in my house and the only other damage is my audio receiver. My rear speaker sits right on the transition piece so figure the electric current traveled through the speaker cable to the receiver and blew it.”
