Late Saturday in Alabama (and Other Places)

Yesterday at this time, a big family of thunderstorms was moving east and southeast from North Alabama, approaching Birmingham, and threatening to make the (Afternoon Drive) (Afternoon Rush Hour) (your choice) rather unpleasant.

But they began to weaken and break up so it was not so bad after all.

This afternoon, a different story. Almost no showers in progress over the north half of Alabama. Instead the main storms extend from about Montgomery westward to places like Demopolis and Livingston.

They were moving generally toward the west-southwest but come were curving back toward the northwest. Lots of lightening in those storms!
