Science educators continue to find ways to combat the difficulty of keeping America’s children interested in science.  If you teach science and want to connect real-world expertise and application into your classroom, Monday, October 17 needs to be marked on your calendar!

Hosted the day before the Alabama Science Teachers Association Meeting, the National Weather Association is pleased to offer the Teachers Workshop – where fun, interactivity, and practical expertise will be fused into an active day of instruction and learning.

If you’re looking for weather experts, you won’t find a bigger collection than the group in Birmingham in October.  Dr. Greg Forbes, the Weather Channel’s chief severe weather expert, will be presenting information about April’s tornadoes in the Southeast.  Nick Walker, also of the Weather Channel, is renowned for his “Weather Dude” program that is geared especially for children.  He’ll be sharing some of his experiences.

Government and broadcast meteorologists will be discussing the tools of meteorology – the nuts and bolts behind the technology that you see on television and internet weather products.  Alabama Power and the Birmingham Water Works will present exhibits about the remarkable power of weather and water.

This workshop is designed for teachers of all education and experience levels.  So, whether you are a recent graduate or a veteran educator, this workshop will help you bring science to life in your classroom.

Total registration is limited to 150 educators and can be accessed using the link below.  Please tell your teacher friends as well!

This is a FREE opportunity to learn from and interact with some of the foremost weather experts in America:
