Mike Brown, Mississippi State UniversityOur guest WeatherBrain is Mike Brown, Associate Professor of Meteorology & Climatology at Mississippi State University. Mike is a climatologist/meteorologist with interest in land-surface-atmosphere interactions. Mike has looked at the impact of heterogeneous surfaces upon formation regions of convection in Illinois and Mississippi. Mike has also studied severe local storms in the Mid-Atlantic region in an attempt to identify processes generated at the Earth’s surface that augment the mesoscale atmosphere creating an environment of enhanced instability and shear. Outside of work Mike enjoys storm-chasing, playing with his dogs, restoring antique sewing machines, and training for triathlons.

Ryan StinnettJoining us as a WeatherBrains guest panelist is Ryan Stinnett. Ryan has his Masters degree in Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University. He did his undergraduate work at South Alabama. He recently was part of a prestigious national forecasting contest. And he was one of the most valuable volunteers at the recent National Weather Association (NWA) annual conference held in Birmingham, AL.
