An all new edition of the ABC 33/40 Weather Xtreme video is available in the player on the right sidebar of the blog. You can subscribe to the Weather Xtreme video on iTunes by clicking here.

COOL BREEZE: Following the cold front that brought some light rain to Alabama yesterday, noticeably cooler air rolls in today with a brisk northwest wind in the 10-25 mph range. Temperatures will only reach the mid to upper 50s despite a good supply of sunshine. Then, tonight, as the wind dies down, temperatures will drop quickly, and a freeze is expected early tomorrow with morning lows in the low 30s. Colder spots will easily reach the 20s. Tomorrow promises to be a sunny day with a high not too far from 60 degrees.

THE WEEKEND: After a cold start early Saturday with lows in the mid 40s, we expect a nice warming trend over the weekend, with a high in the mid 60s Saturday, followed by low 70s Sunday. A few clouds might show up Sunday, but the weather will stay dry.

NEXT WEEK: Enough moisture will return Monday for a small risk of a shower late in the day, but the better chance of showers, and possibly a thunderstorm, will hold off until Tuesday with an approaching cold front. This front will run out of gas somewhere over South Alabama Tuesday night or early Wednesday, which means showers could linger through mid-week below Montgomery. For this part of Alabama, it looks like drier air will move in on Wednesday, but no big change to cooler weather is expected for now. See the Weather Xtreme video for the details on long range weather ideas.

SEAN: The tropical storm in the Atlantic could become a minimal hurricane tonight as it passes well to the west of Bermuda on the way out to the North Atlantic… no impact on the U.S. mainland.

STORM ALERT XTREME: Our annual storm spotter training is coming up on Saturday, November 12 at the BJCC, as part of the Alabama International Auto show. We begin at 9:00, and you will be done at 2:00. And, as a “thank you”, you will get free admission into the car show. There is no cost, and no need to register, just show up. Brian Peters will be the trainer, and we ask all existing and potential Skywatchers to attend. See you there!

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 90 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40.
