Rain Tapering Off

| December 25, 2011 @ 1:15 pm

Here’s an update on the weather shortly after 12 noon. Looks like the rain had begun to taper off across West Central Alabama and will continue to taper off across the rest of Central Alabama through the afternoon.

But while the rain is ending, clouds appear likely to stick around for the rest of today and into Monday and Tuesday, too. Cloud deck as viewed from satellite is fairly uniform with lots of low clouds keeping the day looking dark and dreary.

Rainfall across the area seems to have been fairly uniform around a half inch to three quarters of an inch. A bit more than my forecast, but it came so nicely it has really soaked in. Looks like another 1 to 2 inches of rain is still possible in the next round of weather from late Monday afternoon into Tuesday morning.
