Wide Range in Cloud Cover/Temps

| February 5, 2012 @ 12:48 pm

There is a wide range in cloud cover and temperatures at this hour across Central Alabama. Heavy clouds extend from the Birmingham area north northeastward through Blount, Etowah and St. Clair Counties and southwestward through SHelby, Bibb, Chilton and Perry Counties

East of there, you find more sun. It is 64F in Anniston, but only 54F in Birmingham. With a little more sun in Tuscaloosa, it is 61F.

Obviously, there will be a wide range in afternoon highs, from the upper 50s to upper 60s.

You can expect a mix of clouds and stars overnight tonight as patches of clouds move across the area at times. Lows tonight will drop into the middle 30s.

Dry and seasonally cool weather will be the rule the remainder of the week. Highs will be between the upper 50s and lower 60s. Lows will be in the 30s to lower 40s. Many folks will see a light freeze Tuesday morning, though.
