Good News: More Counties Cleared

The Tornado Watch has been canceled for Calhoun and St. Clair.

The Tornado Watch for Cherokee, Etowah, Greene, Jefferson, Sumter and Tuscaloosa Counties was allowed to expire at midnight.

The Tornado Watch continues for Autauga, Barbour, Bibb, Bullock, Chambers, Chilton, Clay, Cleburne, Coosa, Dallas, Elmore, Hale, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Montgomery, Perry, Pike, Randolph, Russell, Shelby, Talladega and Tallapoosa Counties til 5:00 AM CST.

Our line of storms now extends from Cleburne and Randolph Counties in the east across Talladega/Clay, Coosa/Shelby/Chilton, Bibb/Perry to Marengo/Hale/Greene/Sumter in the West.

Lots of lightning and heavy rain. Some gusty winds, perhaps a little hail. There is a chance of damaging winds and a very small chance of a tornado with this line.

Behind the line, the severe weather threat is over. The threat has ended for Calera and Anniston.

Light rain extends back to Tuscaloosa, Birmingham and Gadsden.
