I wrote before Friday’s tornado outbreak it made no sense to compare the forecast event to any other outbreak… every severe weather episode is different.

Now we can look at actual data. Here is a look at NWS warnings… March 2 (Friday) is on the left, April 27, 2011 is on the right.

So, there is your comparison.

But, understand, all it takes is one small tornado moving through your neighborhood that kills a person, and that becomes YOUR April 27.
