Alabama Weather Very Early on Thursday

| March 22, 2012 @ 3:46 am

At 3:45 on this very early Thursday morning, showers and thunderstorms continue widespread across Mississippi but overall, not quite as strong. The stronger storms were on the east side of the state especially near the coast and also from near Meridian north to near Tupelo.

Movement is north to north-northeast,

A few moderate to heavy showers have crossed the Mississippi-Alabama border into Southwest Alabama between Mobile and Demopolis. Moving northeast.

Very little lightning at this hour except near the Mississippi Coast.

Latest thinking from the Storm Prediction Center is a “slight risk” of severe weather today in a narrow zone from about New Orleans north to near Meridian.

Maybe that is enough encouragement  to sign off from here now with a promise to return for the next update  for morning drive. What happened to the old, old saying, “morning rush hour.” Bet the drivers on US 280 can tell you.

Over and out!
