A gorgeous March Sunday is in progress across Central Alabama. Sunshine rules the day, with just a few stratocumulus clouds around in the post-frontal northwesterly flow. Temperatures are quite mild, pushing toward the 70s, despite the influx of slightly cooler air behind the front. It was already 70F at Tuscaloosa, 66F at Birmingham and 64F at Anniston.

A nice ridge of upper level high pressure will build over Alabama and the Deep South over the next five days, giving us dry and warm weather through Thursday. We will be in the middle 50s tonight and tomorrow night, edging up into the upper 50s by midweek. Highs each day Monday through Thursday will be in the lower 80s.

By the end of the week, we will likely have broken the all time record for days with highs of 80+ degrees in the Magic City. We currently have logged ten. The record is twelve. It is in jeopardy.
