Alabama 811 | Know What's Below.

Wet Friday

| March 30, 2012 @ 6:15 am

I am traveling this morning to Iowa for a weather conference; Brian Peters will be along shortly with a more detailed discussion..,

WET AT TIMES: Not much change in the overall thinking today; we expect scattered to numerous showers and storms thanks to a well defined disturbance to the west.

Rain amounts of around 1/2 inch are likely, with some spots getting more where heavier downpours develop. A strong storm is possible, but severe weather is not expected. Most communities will see about two hours of rain, with the best chance coming late this morning into the afternoon hours.

WEEKEND: Still looks mostly dry and warm, although an isolated storm can’t be ruled out tomorrow afternoon. We rise into the low 80s tomorrow, and mid to upper 80s Sunday, which is right at record territory.

NEXT WEEK: Still some risk of severe weather is on the table Tuesday, followed by much cooler air over the latter half of the week.

Again, Brian will be along shortly with a full discussion from his post at the Barber Motorsports Park…
