Severe Thunderstorm Warning: Winston County

Two storms in Winston County are of concern right now.

The one just north of Double Springs is strengthening quickly and will pass near or just east of Double Springs.

The other is near Arley. This storm will pass into eastern Walker County along the Walker/Cullman County line. Eventually it will move near Sipsey and Sumiton in Walker County. The NWS has chosen to go with a significant weather alert for northeastern Walker County. That’s one step below a severe thunderstorm warning.

Damaging winds are the biggest threat. There could be hail, but it is below severe limits right now. Watch out as always for lightning and heavy rain.
