High Wind Line

Here is where the narrow line of high winds was located at 5:40 this morning:

From near Oneonta southward through St. Clair County to Sylacauga in South Talladega County to Rockford in Coosa County.

Moving quickly eastward.

Sudden high wind gusts, some that can cause damage. Known as a “gravity wave.”

First report came from Marion at 4:22 am. The person reported, “awful straight line winds in Marion, gusts reminded me of a tropical storm.”

BREAK FROM THE RAIN
Areas from about Fayette, Tuscaloosa, Centreville and Clanton westward not getting a break from the rain.

MORNING RUSH HOUR/BIRMINGHAM
By around 6:30, most of the rain will be out of Jefferson County. West oart of the county already getting a break.
