Gravity wave warning update
A gravity wave formed near the back edge of the rain this morning. A narrow band of heavy rain, accompanied by wind gusts out of the west up to 50 mph, is currently located from west of Gadsden to Anniston. This is the wave “ridge”. Behind the rain, winds will shift more out of the NE, but may still have gusts up over 30 mph. These winds could cause some wind damage, and power outages have been reported.
The NWS has issued a high wind warning through 7 am.
